About This Image

These flowers and buds were on a tree in The Botanical Gardens in Raratonga. They were really beautiful, but up high. Don't know if they had a perfume. Zoom brought the flower closer, but not the scent.

Found the name of this beautiful tree. It is called the Buttercup Tree. a Species of Cochlospermum. It is also known as Silk Cottontree, Bototo, or Mountain Cotton. Native to North and South America

Yes, this is exactly the same awsome tree flower we had seen in Miami Shores Golf Course on March 2009. I remember there were no leaves, only buds and flowers on the tree and some fell on the ground. I'm also curious if it scents since we hadn't came up to the idea of smelling it for all the fascination. Regret, we haven't found its name on the internet, only as a yellow flower tree. Thanks for posting this. By the way, I've got a snapshot of it with a couple of enlarged parts on the picture to add details.

Great shot GAV... maybe you could invent a Zoom Nostril to attach to the Zoom Lens. LOL
