great horned owl gazing at me. In the wild, in our area. Beautiful bird. I was all alone there in this spot last evening, it was wonderful, just me and the owl, not a soul around for a good half hour! DH took the dogs in the other direction so that I could capture these shots

thanks for the nice comments, Knapperbill. Hope you will soon get to capture a good shot of the owls in your area. I have to learn more about the lighting for my shots of them, as they usually start waking up around sundown, and the light in the wooded areas is not that great.

Alandra, I am so jealous!! I have tried to get a shot of a great horned owl for a long time and I always end up spooking them before I can get a shot! Beautiful photo!!

What a treat that must have been Alandra! The calm and serenity of nature at it's finest. I am enjoying these beautiful pics of the owls.
