About This Image

my paternal Great Grandmother, Clara nee England, born 1863. This portrait was taken at Lindon Hatt Studio, Bristol, England, in approximately 1884, when Clara was 21, I would think.
Clara's parents had boy/girl twins. And when Clara married my Great Grandfather, they also had boy/girl twins. Unfortunately, their daughter died as a toddler.

thanks again Gary. Must check on the date, from the genealogy info on Clara. Would also like to know more about the pin or locket that she has at neckline of her coat.

Another one of those great old family photos. I love her clothes too. Probably very fashionable at the time. Any idea of the photo date?

thanks Carol. am quite surprised at the clothes also : ) This was before she married, I believe. She lived most of her life in the country in Devon, in a thatched Keeper's Cottage in Harpford Wood, where her husband, my great grandpa, was gamekeeper for Lord Rolle. So this was quite likely the last of clothes like this, poor soul : )

Clara is a beautiful Lady, love the coat and hat. Just look at that tiny waist. Carol
