About This Image

Dusk falling rapidly over this lovely scene of Lions Gate Bridge, from the West Vancouver side, British Columbia, Canada.

Stanley Park is the wooded area at south end of bridge. You drive through Stanley Park to access the Lions Gate Bridge. There's a scenic drive thru, or the shorter, faster access via the "Causeway". My husband worked for many years as a patrolman for the Provincial Police on the bridge and beyond.
Believe that's a barge travelling under the bridge. Vehicle lights can be seen as they cross the span, and the entire bridge is illuminated, but it doesn't show up clearly here.

This was an unexpected shot, - thought it was too late plus it started showering again, but suddenly saw the opportunity and chanced it. No tripod used.

Great image. I was there two yease ago. Left the port there for an Alaska cruise. Impressive . Did you know that this bridge was designed by the same gentleman that designed the Golden Gate Bridge? I'd like to go back and spend some time in VC. Especially the silk road/
