About This Image

one of my favourite summer shots, one lovely summer evening at a beach 5 minutes from home. This time with the horizon straightened : )

Boundary Bay, (Centennial Beach) British Columbia, Canada, close to the US/Canadian Border (like 5 mins away from here : )

We watched this little group of sailors drift slowly towards us, - the dogs kept falling in, and were hoisted back up on the raft by the kids, with much laughter.
When they got closer and saw our Labs, the raft dogs jumped in and that was the end of the raft journey : )

thanks Karen, -- think this was taken with my first digital, the Sony DSC S70, point and shoot. great camera, still have it. This is just minutes from our house (not vacation : )

thankyou Kathy. Yes, the pretty "pink" glow of the sunset does cast a nice touch to the whole scene, altho it was getting pretty late by the time the mariners drifted closer for this shot : ) Earlier in the evenings at this area, there are wonderful pink sunset "glows" that shine all over the dried grassy field/park there, as well as making the water in the bay just gleam with silvery pinkness. Should try to capture more of those scenes, we haven't been down there for sometime. Must go soooon.

What also makes this picture outstanding is the subtle colors of the background in contrast to the vibrant colors of the kid and raft. Thumbs up!

thanks Deb. yep, it's one of the uses I have for MS Digital Image Pro 9, - straightening the pics and also using the "smart erase" tool to remove those "dates". still have a few of those to rescue : )

Now that's a great photo and the horizon is just spot on :)

thanks Carol, yes it was a very happy scene. Even a year later, can "feel the essence" of that beautiful summer evening, and the scene remains in my memory.
