Male Mourning Dove with baby squabs in nest. You can tell this is the male, due to the bluish tinge on the head and reddish hue on the chest.

Squabs in this photo are a little over a week old. The first week, they remained covered almost all the time by the parent.

Mourning Doves alternate caring for the nest (eggs and later squabs). This type of bird is hunted in many states.
