Just a hint,I used a couple wire ties and strapped a branch right to the post the feeders were hanging on,that kept them nearby for a while guarding the feeders.

WOW!! I'm in the Hummer Club already?? COOL :) Hopefully I can get some better shots of this kind of Hummer where someone might be able to tell what it is. I now have two feeders with the nectar stuff along with my giant bird bath. If they don't like that they can go to a Motel LOL.. Oh Whittler, I got so excited when it landed above me in the tree that I forgot all about using some fill flash.

Well Alan,thats a pretty good first attempt.It looks like she is in the shade,I don't think it would be so brown in the sunlight.Have you tried your flash?I had some pix of our ruby-throated hummers in dim light, that looked a lot like that one. Oh, you're in now,I can tell you are hooked on capturing these guys.lol Welcome to the club.

OK Alan,Im laughing at your message not the photo.Im very interested in this Hummer,I think its a female.Hope you got feeders with nectar hanging so the bird will be back and you can get lots more pictures of this beauty. Id say you surely made the Hummer Club if there is one.LOL More hummer pics Please. Carol
