They are rather small and plain compared to the other egrets during most of the year, but their colors really change during breeding season.

what pretty colouring on this egret. A new one for me to see, have heard of them but not sure if I've ever seen a pic of one. Not such a nicely coloured one anyway, maybe this is breeding plumage
