thankyou Vicki. was surprised to see a comment on this one, as I took it nearly a year ago : ) Haven't been able to capture shots of any butterflies so far this year, they aren't landing on any flowers in the garden here. Once the butterfly bush is in flower, it might change, hopefully : )

Alandra, this is a gem. In theory, it SHOULD be too busy, but it all fits together perfectly. Congratulations.

Alandra, I know what it's like to finally get that elusive shot! This is great - so gorgeous - and fuzzy, just like mine!

thanks very much, Gary. It's great to see your comments here once again : ) it sure took me a long time to capture any shots of butterflies, but I did well with getting hummingbird pics this summer.

thanks Alex D. am glad am not the only one who didn't realize about the "fuzzy" butterflies, as thought I'd just never noticed, or looked close enough : )

Wow, I have never seen a hairy butterfly before. Very cool. Nice background with the white flowers.

thanks Carol, Alex, Karen, Kathy. Hadn't thought of that re the white spots, Karen, - maybe that's why it was attracted to these flowers. Was starting to think I'd never get a butterfly shot : )

know what you mean about the "fuzz" - was wondering if they came from northern areas, as he's pretty weatherbeaten, poor thing. Maybe that's where they've been (travellin') and why we didn't see many around til lately.

The fuzz is probably left over from when it was a caterpillar. I wonder if they gradually lose it? Nice closeup! Kathy

thankyou, Indieshell. these are the first shots I've been able to get of them, so far, they've been very elusive around here this summer. didn't realize how hard it is to capture the shots of them, til this one flew nearby yesterday : )
