Frogmouth owls trying to blend in. These birds are one of the most unusual birds to be found. The bird on your right is actually leaning into the shape of the tree limbs around him as part of his camoflage technique. Their colouring makes them very difficult to find but, when found, they will usually sit and wait for you to leave. And stare you down...

That is incredible camouflage. I have heard of the frogmouth but I didn't know it was an owl. Thanks for sharing. I'm enjoying your photos.

interesting to hear about these birds, and they certainly are masters of camouflage. These are in Australia?
