About This Image

"black" hollyhocks with raindrops. Lots of pollen inside the flower "cups" also. Growing in the border beside the driveway. Planted several new & "double" hollyhocks this summer, but these single ones from last year are the only ones that have bloomed.

many thanks, Carol and Lorraine. It is an unusual colour, had hoped it would be more black, actually, and I do prefer the "double" flowered hollyhocks, -- planted several of those earlier this summer but they aren't doing that well.
