About This Image

This is the founder of New Orleans. He was well known for getting along well with the American Indians. The priests he favored were the Jesuits though the Capuchins were also in South Louisiana. His statue is in the French Quarter which is the oldest part of New Orleans.

I have not looked at this site for comments for a while sorry. Yes, it is me in the reflection. How poetic! I am a historian reflected by a piece illustrating history.

Interesting photograph, Dudley. Thank you for sharing this photograph. Would that be your reflection in the base of the statue?
