A very old oak tree in a field of winter wheat, after a late April wind-driven snow squall. Near Avon in Western NY.

Nice shot - neat old tree. It might look even better if you cropped off some of the left side of the image.

Thanks for the comments, Jas. The Genesee Valley south of Rochester, NY has many very old oaks, mostly in farm fields, due to the foresight of the original land developers (James and William Wadsworth), who, in the early 19th Century, required that when land was cleared at least one shade tree be left for every two acres of land. Mostly oak trees were left, but there are some hickory and others as well. Most of the old oaks still standing are at least 200 years old.

What a majestic looking tree - it's beautiful. The tree almost looks as if someone has painted the snow on. I think this would look good on a wall.
