American Hover Fly, Monarch Butterfly and Horrible Thistle

have just spotted this one, Vicki, it's very eye-catching. Love the curved form of the thistle, and the butterfly just tops it off, hanging there like a piece of stained glass. background very effective also :)

Thank you for your comments,Tania, Carol, Anne and Alex. There was a gator swimming in the lake at the same time I got this - but it was on the other side! I think you're right about it being the national flower of Scotland, Anne. I rather like them. But those aren't bees - I really had to do my homework to confirm that fact - they are called 'Hover Flies'. Vicki

Just as the bees and the butterfly, I love thistles. People used to say I was as prickly as one. *LOL* But, back to picture, I believe thistles are Scotland's National Flower but I am probably wrong. *LOL* Wonderful picture.
