This is a most beautiful photo of a poppy. The colors are wonderful and intense. It's very nice.

it was lucky I got this one image, - it was the only flower it produced, then the stem fell right off the crown of the plant at the base,(never had that happen with all the many other poppies we have here) - so we dug it up and showed the people where it was purchased, as it was quite expensive, -- and they gave us credit for other plants instead, as there was something wrong with this one. I just got various other plants instead, a perennial and a Martha Washington geranium in bi-colours, will send some images of that later.

thanks Carol and Alex. To be honest, am a bit disappointed in it, - thought it would be a deeper colour and more "double" flowered. Paid too much for it, too, -- should have waited til I saw one blooming at the garden center :) - it's not as if we don't have enough poppies, as have several lovely pink oriental poppies outback that return year after year. But expected this new one to be "something else", according to what I'd read.
