Simply leaves me breathless from the beauty of it!! I love the mist in the back of the picture, which seems to illuminate the trees ahead of it, the silhouetted trees on one side and the trees with rock ledge on other side. Beautiful

Thank you so much for the feedback. We're excited about our upcoming visit to the area. I have an aunt and uncle in Rochester and Mike has never seen Niagara Falls, so we'll be making several trips north on our days off - once we discover all the great places around the Glen! Vicki

Thanks for all the kind comments!

Vicki, Letchworth Park is about 85 road miles NW of Watkins Glen, and would be well worth a visit. The park is about 23 miles end to end, with a good road following the river gorge with many overlooks, and areas to walk, picnic, etc. Be sure to visit the Mt. Morris Dam site as well.

Don, the power lines blend into the background and are barely visible in the hi-res version of the shot. They disappeared completely into the river in the low-res on-line version.

Beautiful capture Alfresco! Did you clone out the power lines? I remember they were in a bad spot from this vantage point, crossing the gorge, if I remember correctly. Great work! Don

This is terrific. A wonderful perspective of gorgeous falls. We'll be near the Finger Lakes this summer - by Watkins Glen - how far is this from there? Vicki

Beautiful composition with nice contrast of dark and light areas. The fall colors are an added plus. Well done.
