Great Salt Lake Sunset

Great Salt Lake Sunset

The Great Salt Lake is one of the biggest lakes in Northern America. This one was taken at sunset near the marina. I particularly liked this one because of the sun rays over the dark cloud, and how the pole seems to give it more depth perception.

This sunset image is an excellent capture. Love the elements in the foreground and background. The only thing (my opinion) I'd change is to crop out the right 1/2 of the image and make it a tall portrait of the left 1/2. The left side is the part that draws the eye the right is dark. Other than that, it is a very strong image, well done!

I love the way the sun is shining off into the lake, and the way the sun is staying just above the dark cloud. the whole photo is great!

God Bless You,

Audrey

What a beautiful picture - the sun with the light blazing upward, the reflection creating a path across the water and setting it off, balancing colors - is the pole. Someone pulling your leg, perhaps. Great Picture

Brian, I don't understand Zagreb Miljovic's comment either. I don't know why he assumed you're a beginner and I don't understand he says "you might want to take better pics in the future." I don't see how you could improve on this photo. It is as professional looking as any photo could look. I like the gold color tone of the image. The pole is not at all distracting. Like you and others say, it adds depth to the scene.

This is a very nicely composed picture. We are led into the picture by the reflection in the water and the pole adds to it's interest and gives the viewer a sense of depth perception. Excellent and beautiful!

I don't think the pole is distracting. It makes it look...well, I don't know. It's neither bad nor good. I wouldn't change a thing!!

Zagreb, could you please elaborate? Please offer specifics on how this photo might be improved. Thanks.

Found myself revisiting this photo again. I love it and I don't think the pole detracts from the photo. in a way adds to it. But Deb has something it does looks like a volcano.

One of my favourites Z

A gorgeous shot of the sun bursting thru the clouds. Your comment/question about the pole, my eyes went to the pole first so don't know if you consider this a distraction.

Thanks. I've had a few comments saying that the pole is distracting. What do you think?
