thanks a lot, Austin. there's so much of those logs around that had to crop a load out : )

Beautiful shot!

The weathered wood she's sitting on really add to the photo.

many thanks Janice and Fella, glad you like these. Was wondering if you had any down your way, Fella. maybe all those baldies keep them away? These guys were sure watching overhead for the baldies flying over while we were there

Hi Joan, thanks for taking time to look and leave a comment. Interesting your remark about how the females of the Snowies seem more handsome, as had been thinking along the same lines, infact initially was confused as to which was which, for that reason. as you say, it's usually the males in the bird species who are brighter coloured.

Joan from Nova Scotia on Feb 14, 2006 at 3:48 PM said:

Just love the Snowy Owls ...as usual in the animal kingdom the males are considered the most

handsome ...in this case I beg to differ, but !!! they are truly beautiful male or female.

Thank you Alandra .

thanks Mary, yes, was happy to find this one amongst the many I took. really looks as if she's watching me : ) I imagine their eyesight is amazing. They all kept turning their heads and staring at the photographers on the dyke road, even the owls that were closer to the water. they just continually rotate their heads

To get the eye like that is wonderful!
