Northern Water Snake

: Northern Water Snake; Taken at North Park, the nature center. I just found out that the snake is not a Rat snake but a Northern Water Snake. Dud, it's funny you mentioning about the head, on one of the first photos I posted I was looking for the head and thought I was seeing the tail until I brought the photo up on my computer and was surprised that I was actually photographing the head. I read that these snakes are not poisonous but will defend themselves viciously when threatened and will bite.
