This summer I'm working as a reservationist at a great campground in the foothills of New York'd Catskills. A fellow from Oxford, UK made a reservation for a week with his wife and daughter and asked about hiking trails. This is one of the areas my boss told me about.

Sam's Point, in this image is one of the shorter area hikes. Only .6 miles from the where I'm standing, it's uphill all the way - great for warming up - or combined with a visit to one of New York's pleasant wineries. Unfortunately there are no markers at the Point itself, so I shall have to consult my Road Atlas - but I'm told I could see 50 miles away and 5 states - I can only confirm 4 - New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut.
