Arty rose!

Getting carried away with this selective colouring now!

This is just me experimenting with the technique, and I quite liked this deliberately crude result, as if someone had wiped dirt off the rose to reveal its colour.

I see what you were getting at now Steve and thats a great idea. You should try making the rest of the image that appears as a "dirty mirror" a little cloudy looking. Looks like you are really having fun with the selective colouring. Keep it up!

I've thought about your suggestion, but this time I'm standing firm!! :) Part of my thinking was the idea of looking at the rose as if through a dirty mirror that someone had wiped with their finger - so the bit of the smear that extends beyond the rose was kind of intentional! The conceit was that magically wiping the mirror where the rose was had revealed its colour. Probably rubbish, I know!

Great job Steve though I have to agree with Alan. I'm going to go one step further though and would prefer it with the grey lines that go beyond the rose itself to be cloned out.
