Alandra, this is the same macro lens I use all the time. I shoot with a canon and this is a 50mm compact macro, which means that it can be used as a macro or a 50 mm. If I had to do over, I would buy a 100mm macro as you do not relize how close one needs to get to photgraph with the 50mm. It's truley crazy. I mean within inches. Wonderful pictures and results, but I'm litterly on the ground most of the time and have to dress accordingly. I must say, I do have a good stain remover for my clothes. LOL
