Delaware Water Gap

This stretch of the Delaware River shows the Gap itself where two mountain ranges come together. This waterway was the primary means of transportation for New Yorkers to reach the Pocanos in the 1800s, before trains and automobiles made their mark. The handsome railroad bridge has stood there for many years.

Kayakers and canoeists frequent the area.

Thank you for looking, Beverly, Carol and Steve. Lots of terrain variety around here. Steve, I did try to contrast some of the coloration a bit, but it was too close to midday so the colors blended too much to effectively add better depth. Vicki

A lovely shot of a beautiful scene, Vicki! Maybe a touch of added brightness might give the image a little more punch?

Hi Andy! Thanks for giving the intriguing bridge its name. Actually, I took this from the walk over bridge in Portland - where the covered bridge used to be. (Ironically we've been buying our diesel fuel right across it at Columbia in New Jersey!!!) If you're anywhere near Outdoor World, Timothy Lakes, come look us up! Vicki

Ah yes, the Slateford bridge. Looks like you are near Kittatinny point. Very nice capture.

I have been wondering just where you have been, and yes the cell coverage in Bushkill is bad, if your not on Nextel or AT&T your outta luck.
