Gibraltar Point Lighthouse

The Gibraltar Point lighthouse was built in 1808 and it now the oldest standing lighthouse on the Great Lakes. In the fall, when the leaves are gone this classic structure can be seen from the water.

For those of you who like ghost stories, Legend has it that the building is haunted. The original keeper disappeared about 1815 and it believed to have been murdered by rumrunners. The lighthouse was decommissioned in the early 1900's.
