thanks for the nice comments, Alan. the "umbrella" leaves are on new plants flowering for the first time this year, - a type of penstemon, planted esp for the hummers lol, but so far haven't seen them taking any notice of them :)

glad you like it, Lorraine, it's amazing what you see when you sit there for ages, looking out. Normally I wouldn't have noticed that.
