King of Beasts

Male South African lion from the Denver Zoo. Shot through thick exhibit glass, he spent about 30 seconds lying on this rock then disappeared. Some PS work to remove building and branches, increased color saturation. D80, 70-210/4D @ 210mm, 1/160", f/8, ISO 100, handheld.

I can't believe how fortunate I was to get this shot, he was not there for very long. Like in a cartoon, I did feel like a t-bone steak as he looked at me LOL! Must not have looked too tasty though, he abandoned his perch only after about 30 seconds or so. I wish the color had come out better in the original, I can't make it look "just right". Thanks for the comments!

A beautiful portrait of this magnificent cat. It looks like a scene from the movie "Born Free".

You've done a great job with this shot! I always think it's difficult to get a clear shot, through such thick glass but you've achieved it. :)
