Thank you, Alan, for your thoughtful feedback. It was nice that the skies were overcast and that eliminated glare.

Beautiful view of nature at work. I also like how you can see the leaves so clear and the light shining through the ice.

Thank you, Ikka and Tania, for stopping by and leaving your kind feedback. This was a very rare event in our part of Texas so I wanted to capture it for posterity!

Good job, well done, it shows with this black BG the reality of the ice.

Thank you, Talsi, for your comment. I think is was so clear because it came down as freezing rain. In three days it was all over. All I had left was the photos.

Nice job and such clear ice to be able to see the veins in the leaves.

Thank you, Alandra. In Texas, they have their own language so I never know what to expect. The media has started to use more scientifically correct terms.

very pretty image. We've been seeing all the scenes on CNN of the aftermath of the various storms across the country. We used to call this situation a "Silver Thaw" years ago, when the ice coated everything like this, but I haven't heard anyone on TV mention Silver Thaw now. Our snow is going fast (thank goodness), now it's raining, which is more normal for us :)

Thank you all for your kind words. Carol, our city had about 23,000 people loose power from falling branches pulling down the wires. Luckily, we didn't have a problem. Most of the stranded were north of us along I-10 where the roads were closed for two days.

We had a Ice storm here in Maine,I think it was in 1999 and what a mess it made, people were without electricity for at least a week.A lot of people had to go to Shelters.

We have a wood stove so we didnt have to go.

The Icicles are beautiful but I hope all the people are safe.

Superb shot. I love the way you can still see the Autumness in these leaves below that frigid ice.

A really interesting image , the leaves just frozen, love the colours and the way the ice hangs.

What an extraordinary phenomenon! You've captured it beautifully, and the light reflecting inside the ice is very delicate.
