Hummingbird whirling wings

taken today from our front window, with my not so great telephoto/optical zoom : )

somehow managed to capture the wing movement in this one. you can see the pattern of the wing movement here, as the wings move in a circular motion, forwards and backwards. We have several hummers visiting our garden this year, - more than we ever recall. - so are really enjoying watching them feed here and chase each other around the patio and back garden. Incredible aerobatic stunts going on

So many of Alandra's birds and animals as well as her flowers are absolutely exceptional. If as the scoring system requires we were to comment on them all it would be a fulltime pleasure. had a great time last summer taking hummer shots on our front patio, for some reason they seemed much more cooperative than previous summers. Hope they are the same this coming summer : )
