This is Mt Halekala Crater located in Maui and is 10,023 feet in elevation. It is the highest rise for distance in the U.S. We Got up at 2:00 in the morning and drove to the top of the crater for this sunrise viewing then rode down the crater on bikes. It is so cold at the top of the crater that the bike tour provides special clothing. The ride down the mountian on the bikes is only 4 hrs long and is steep and winding with only 4 miles of peddaling. This is a fun tour!!!
