Great Egret

A Great Egret, who was resting on the roof of a building at Key Largo Bird Sanctuary. He looks rather majestic with his fine feathers blowing in the gentle breeze.

Thanks for viewing :)

So glad you liked this Alandra and thanks for the lovely comments. He did portray himself as Lord of the Manor, surveying all his land! :)

have only just seen this one, Jas, - am so far behind with viewing everyones' images, regretfully. Caught sight of this one right away. The blue colouring just sets off the beautiful white of the egret so very well, and the wind blowing the lovely feathers like that is perfect. A wonderful image!

He really does look like the wise one, the great master of all birds. What a stunning photo Jas :)

Thank you Vicki. Yes, it was quite breezy and I thought he looked as if he were surveying all before him, just like Royalty. Thank goodness for the telephoto lens, which enabled me to get in a bit closer. :)

Great r-egret that these paradise birds don't come in Montreal. In old times, these feathers ornated ladies hats. Beautiful bird and capture!

This is a beautiful capture Jas. I like the detail and the way

the breeze is fanning it's feathers out.
