Flying Home

This is dedicated to all those who fly home for the holidays. A freak shot. I was trying to shoot the geese in flight and the plane taking off from the Oakland airport a couple of miles away was caught in the shot. I really like how both birds and plane are roughly in the same size and appear to be flying in formation.

I only wish the lighting conditions were better at the time of the shot.

Oh, isn't it amazing how things work out sometimes? What a wonderful picture!!! I am sure it had been planned by a higher hand. *g* I love the geese anyway and then to see a PLANE behind them. A truly marvelous picture!!!!

Really great shot that combines beauty with wit!

I'm not sure what improvement in the lighting conditions you would have hoped for, but I like the lighting just as you've captured it, with lovely subtle sky colour and everything else in silhouette. Any more detail in the plane and geese would have undermined the illusion of unity.

nice shot. it's such a pleasant surprise when this sort of thing happens, and we first notice it when we get the photos onto the computer.

Great idea and well done!! What a fun photo that shows man and beast both enjoying flying through a pretty sky.
