Walking among the Flags

Walking among the Flags

These are my sons walking among the United States flags. They were all placed there as part of an awareness campaign to prevent child abuse.

I can't describe exactly why I like this picture so much, but I think it's because of the symbolism of kids standing up for themselves and walking into a safe place that was set up to protect them as if they are saying, "We're making a stand and choose to turn our backs on abuse."

Of course, my kids just thought it was cool to run and play among the flags, and they have no idea what the flags were there for. They don't even know what abuse is; however, this picture is for all of the kids who do. God bless, and I hope that some day they will all be able to turn their backs on abuse and go to a safe place where a field full of flags is simply a place to run and play.

And how wonderful your children don't even know what abuse is. If only ALL children (all PEOPLE) could be so fortunate...

This picture is awesome. To me, this pic shows the freedom that we have, and one of those freedoms is to live in a loving environment. There are just too many abused children in this world. May God bless them all and send someone to lessen their pain and give them the love they need.

this is a wonderful photo! Even if it wasn't for the endearing sight of the young boys wandering amidst the flags, -- which in itself is so meaningful, -- the added thought-provoking meaning behind the placement of the flags is another wonderful dimension to the entire photo. This is a prize winner.
