Evening Walk

Evening Walk

Washington, DC. Courtyard behind the Ronald Regan building and Federal Triangle in downtown. Lighting was perfect for this unplanned shot. Shortly after sunset, following a light rain (the rain the next day, wiped most of the leaves off the trees). I have several different of these shots, and had a difficult time deciding which was best.

Thanks for your comments everyone. Since you like this particular shot, I will include a couple of outtakes you might enjoy. As I said before, I had trouble deciding which one(s) to include.

A lovely shot. Typical of an autumn evening, with the lights shining through the leaves.

Such an enjoyable photograph to view. The composition, coloring, and

clarity is outstanding. Pinetree so wonderfully captured.

very pleasing image, Alex D. Caught my eyes right away. I saw a tree with yellow leaves like these last night when walking our small dog, and thought how pretty it looked with the street light shining on it, and wondered what sort of a photo it would make.

Thanks for your comment. I was really impressed by the lighting when I strolled into the courtyard area. When shooting a landscape shot like this, I try and get a person in the shot. So as to maintain privacy, I will usually shoot them from behind as they walk past me. As I figure it, if they see that I am shooting a photo and they walk past me into the frame, they can't mind too much if they become part of the subject.

What a gorgeous photo!! The leaves are so nice and bright and the reflection from the wet bricks is awesome, and the lighting is perfect.. The person walking really makes this photo extra fun to view. Great Job!
