lol, Alan. It's true, there are hundreds of these great blue herons around here. There's a big nesting colony in early summer a few mins away from our home, but they nest way high up on the side of a bluff, so it's a bit hard to get as clear a capture as this, altho I made many attempts to do that. Before now, we have usually been heading "somewhere in a rush" so couldn't take time to get these roadside images of the herons, but lately we've been making time to do this.

That's no fair... You just drive down the road and can take photos like this. I have to walk and walk sneaking around cactus to get a shot of a small bird with heat stroke LOL..

thankyou Alan, glad you like it. This is where the herons are often seen in this area, beside the road in these little creeks. Have started watching more closely for them lately : )

WOW Alandra! I really like this one. The stream really adds to the view of the Heron in it's natural habitat.
