The Darter. A cormorant-like, but very large, bird. I found him in a lagoon (I hang out in lagoons...) in the Wetlands Area north of Brisbane. I shot this with a 1x neutral density filter but the light was still very intense...hence the strong contrast in the photograph. All-the-same, I learned something from this photo and will seek to not make that mistake again. These guys are hard to find.
