Thanks Alandra and Vincent, it is appreciated. Alandra, I'll have to look into the red breasted NHs, haven't seen one before. And don't sweat about leaving comments. I know myself if I am unable to check the site for 3 or 4 days there are up to 7 or 8 pages of new photos to look at, sometimes more. darn, that last comment was sent before I meant it to, wanted to say that we don't get this type of nuthatch here, we get the red breasted nuthatches in our area. I believe "your" type is a bit larger than the ones we see here.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I love bird photos too Carol, well heck I love just about any kind of photo ...lol. Mike, I was about 10 feet away fron the bird. I didn't use an extension tube. I should have been clearer. When I wrote 70x200+1.4ext. The 1.4ext is a 1.4x tele converter. That just gives me a little more reach with the 70x200. It turns the top end into a f/4 280mm lens. Confusing huh? Sorry about that, Don

Your description is absolutely right. A great close up of a bird family I used to watch and put out food for - until my fall. And though some birds come to feeder, this one doesn't - to this one, though one did to my feeder. *g* Thanks Don. Great close up!!!
