thankyou Vince. yes, I noticed that also, re the ads appearing in the comments sections, - but not lately. maybe it was just a temporary glitch

thanks Karen. I did comment just now, - but don't understand why some of these comments get posted "out of sequence". - my earlier comment went right to the top of this list, out of sequence. Anyone know why this happens sometimes? thanks

so am sending in this one to see where it lands up : )

thanks very much Lulu and Janice for the praise, really appreciate it.

Also love dahlias, Lulu, - we don't have that many now, but over the years have had many different dahlias, some of the "giant" ones that you mention, one near the front door. One year, small bright green "tree frogs" used to sleep on the huge dahlia flowers, - did get some pics at the time, have them someplace around here (regular photos in those days, not digital : ) That one summmer, a strong wind blew the huge dahlia over and snapped it off. We also used to find the little tree frogs "attached" to the front door when we'd get home, on the summer evenings : ) Just recalled, that the tall dahlia was mis-marked, as hadn't intended to get a giant one for that spot, so it was a surprise when it grew to Jack in the Beanstalk proportions : ) - we usually go for the shorter "border" type dahlias like Park Princess, for our smallish patio area garden. We must get some more for next year, as some of ours seem to have gone now.(we leave them in the ground all winter)

Alandra, I love dahlias. I have many in my garden but they are all giant ones with stalks on them almost as thick as my wrist. This one you have photographed is lovely. I was at the garden centre yesterday buying plants. I got three pink lavender, three artichokes (for my husband as we love them and no one grows them here), two chilli plants and two cherry tomato plants (the tiny tomatoes for salads). Looks like I'm getting into the swing of spring - even though its raining today. Trouble is I've set myself up for more work now :-) Just seeing this beautiful photo makes me want to go out and buy some more dahlias (the smaller ones though). Oh, I'm back in the swing of things and uploaded a couple more photos.

thanks Carol, I really liked that background also : ) and thought the same about it complimenting the flower itself.
