Aeonium Tabuliforme

Aeonium TabuliformeAeonium tabuliforme; is an unusual perennial succulent, almost stemless, short lived with a basal rosette, grows to 12in across, like a flat bright green plate. Has star-shaped flowers in spring.
I took this image at the Ventnor Botanic Gardens on the Isle of Wight, the gardens are sheltered by an Underclif an extensive area of landslip, which has formed a cliff shelf sheltered from the north by more cliffs.
This gives the Undercliff natural shelter and allows tropical plants to thrive in the open.
Some 22acres are home to tender and rear plants, shrubs and tropical vegetation from all over the world.
