Baby Great Horned Owls April 2009, testing wings

baby Great Horned Owls at a park near us, very high up in a cottonwood tree. Note the gorgeous huge wings! These 2 have not left the branch close to the nest yet, but there is one more who has just fledged, and it was in a nearby tree, higher up. When we got there today, the mother owl was with these 2, but shortly after she flew over to be closer to the other baby who had just flown for the first time.
