Full camera setup for the nature photographer for under $2000


For under $2000, the serious amateur to semi-professional digital nature and wildlife photographer can get a great DSLR Nikon D80 and a range of lenses from super wide angle to super telephoto or 10mm to 300mm (15mm to 450mm 35mm film equivalent or from about 4 times wider to 9 times closer than the normal eye can see using 50mm as the base focal length of the human eye.

The Nikon D80 is an excellent 10.2MP digital SLR.  It features a 2.5″ LCD Monitor, 3 frames per second burst rate, 11-area auto focusing system, 7 digital variable programs, in-camera image editing, up to 1600 ISO, etc.

For $999, you can get the D80 camera body plus an 18-135mm lens, which will be appropriate for most normal situations.  This particular lens is normally $400 so it’s a really good deal to get it with the camera.

For $500, the Sigma 10mm-20mm super wide angle lens for Nikon cameras will help capture wonderful landscapes.

And for $480, the Nikkor 70mm-300mm super telephoto lens with vibration reduction will help you capture great wildlife photographs as it will render your subject up to 9 times closer than normal.
