About This Image

Photo taken at Living Treasures Animal Park in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
At the beginning of this century it is estimated that there were 100,000 wild tigers, today the number is less than 8,000. Tigers are disappearing in the wild and the main threats to tigers are poaching, habitat loss and population fragmentation.

Beautifully captured pose really shows off the markings. Our zoo had a white tiger with blue eyes and he had to be euthanized because of defective hips, probably a recessive trait brought along with it being white. It was nice that you caught him looking right at you.

What a great shot of this very handsome beast! His markings are truly wonderful and I love his little pink nose! It's very sad that these beautiful animals are in such decline and most of the problems are caused by humans!

Mary this is so beautiful. The capture is perfect and I'm just noticing it was shot with a Canon! With an eye for beauty and a great camera, you have produced a beautiful photo for us to enjoy. :)
