About This Image

Are they strange flying discs in the night sky?

Karen Moen - Sep 28, 2008 10:21 AM EDT
Yes, Brianpaddock. The white area is where a flower was once attached but all the petals are gone. It's like the way an apple forms under the flower. The green spots are like the xylem and phloem remnants.

cactus prickly pear in fruit
Karen Moen - Sep 27, 2008 11:53 PM EDT
It is part of a cactus but those are not flowers.

agreeing with Brian, think it's the cactus pads with the flowers around the edges, - might be named Prickly Pear cactus?
BRIANPADDOCK - Sep 27, 2008 10:34 AM EDT

Karen Moen - Sep 26, 2008 11:12 PM EDT
Bubbalinn and Alovely are going in the right direction.
Karen Moen - Sep 26, 2008 11:04 PM EDT
Sorry, no flowers or lights. Interesting idea though.
A.Lovely - Sep 26, 2008 09:48 PM EDT
Is it flowers around solar lighting???
Karen Moen - Sep 25, 2008 08:03 PM EDT
Thanks for all the guesses! Nope, it's not lights nor diamond rings. All I did was play with the contrast and brightness to help hide part of the image.
bubbalinn - Sep 25, 2008 01:15 PM EDT
Are they roses around some type of lights?
GRUMPY - Sep 25, 2008 03:28 AM EDT
