This is an interesting plant. I think the angle is great with the blue sky in the background.

Good close up, and the blue sky background really sets off the flower.

Aw thanks Stewart! Yes, it definatley reminds me of an asparagus as well. Thank for the comment.

This is neat. It looks like a close-up asparagus. A nice clear shot.

Thanks for your comments Carol, Mary, Lurene, Mel and Alandra. This flower is actually quite large - hence my reference to a triffid - though I guess you cant tell by the photo! The flower itself would be about the size of a grapefruit, and the stalk not much thinner than my wrist. I took the photo standing up, from under the flower slightly. It was about 3.5 feet off the ground.

Rather dramatic with the straon colours. I don't think I have seen one of these's flowers before. I look how you have captured it. Well done again!

This is awesome. I like the colour of the sky behind it also. These really do remind me of that old triffids movie. Oh, the water droplets look really neat.

This is a beautiful portrait of a flower and the background sets it off perfectly. Were you lying on the ground to get this shot?? :)
