As I look outside my window, I can see the brilliant blue stream of light memorializing those innocent lives that were lost on that fateful day of September 11, 2001. Despite the overwhelming sense of loss , disbelief and horror, I think the thing I will always remember most is the sheer outpouring of "Empathy",.. empathy in every sense of the word by those who witnessed it all. Everyone felt their lives shatter together, their hearts break as one, their minds and eyes transfixed on the destruction before them. Yet everyone sought to ease that pain by offering solice to any and all who reached out, and in return , comforted their very own soul . Simple acts of kindness, charity and genuine concern for their fellow man was now the norm. Total strangers were now united in thought.. purpose... and action, to restore order to the senseless disorder created by those who have yet to discover their own humanity.
