thanks, will look it up in my bird book and read what it states about loggerhead shrikes. Realized you lived in Florida when I saw some other pics of yours : )

I think it is a loggerhead shrike. It is hard to see all of it's markings, since the picture was taken from below. I live in Florida.

what a very pretty bird. Do you know what type it is? haven't seen one like that around here. Which area do you live at?
