About This Image

This could be called "Grumpy Old Men" as well. They were always in the same area at a local Belgian horse farm, and always showed the same apparent attitude. We haven't seen them for a while, we hope they're still around and integrated with the other guys.

I had not noticed the scarring on the horse's face before. We had an idea these guys were retired, and had sort of special care, since they were kept right next to the farmhouse. The farm breeds Belgians, but often there are other horses there of all sizes. some we suspect have been "rescued" from abusive situations, with their appearance and apparent health improving significantly over time. Good people there.

feel the same way about draft horses as May, altho I know little about them. Since May pointed the scarring out, am also wondering about that.

Lovely horses. I have a soft spot for drafts. Gotta wonder about the scarring on the middle one's face - too tight headstall or halter.
