A pair of old boots I found in an abandoned barn on a sheep ranch I was renting about 30 years ago. They were my size and I have worn them when doing dirty work in my garden/yard since then. They have seen a lot of wear.
I normally leave them outside, but the rains in California have started and I decided it better to bring them in. As I did, I thought they might look good in a picture. Here is my first successful still life.

The great thing about this "still life" is that you've suceeded in arranging the boots so they look as if they are about to move. The left boot is just about to step forward - as if the wearer were dancing. That's a fantastic achievement :)

I wonder about the history of these boots as well. The story these boots could tell will always be somewhat of a mystery, but a good photo like this one can still tell us a lot.
