St Augustine residents love plants and greenery, Beverly. It's part of the city's charm. Close by is the 'Lover's Tree'. A well-developed palm tree is growing out of an old oak. It's said that to kiss the one you desire under their combined branches guarantees true love and fidelity. (In other words, be careful who you smooch right there!!!) Vicki

Thank you, Carol. Apparently the schoolmaster and his wife lived upstairs but their kitchen was in a separate building - running up and down the stairs and keeping food warm must have been an adventure! Vicki
