This gang of vandals (there were four of them) invaded our back yard, chased off the resident grey squirrels, and proceded to dig up the area under the bird feeder looking for spilled sunflower seeds.  After a few days of the red's mischief, the greys stood up to them and reclaimed the yard.  Now there's apparently just one red in the area, sneaking in occasionally trying to figure out the squirrel-proof bird feeders and stashing spruce cones in the neighbor's woodpile.  We think they were young siblings, starting out together to find their fortunes, then splitting up to find their own territories after their initial adventure together.
