About This Image

This view of The London Eye, was taken from the River Thames.
The London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel, is the tallest (135 metres (443 ft)) Ferris wheel in Europe, and has become the most popular paid tourist attraction in the UK, visited by over 3 million people a year.
The Eye is located at the western end of Jubilee Gardens, on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, England, between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge. The site is adjacent to that of the former Dome of Discovery, which was built for the Festival of Britain in 1951.
The Eye reminds me of a huge bicycle wheel. The views of the city of London, are amazing, giving a whole new perspective of the landscape.

Thank you, Beverly, Ann and Art for making comments on this shot. I'm not one for heights either but the views are just amazing and you get such a different perspective on the whole of the city that it's worth making the effort to go on it. The trip takes about 35 minutes and is very gentle. Of course, you need a clear day to get a good view. Thanks for looking. :)

Great shot, Jas, I with Talsi on this one. I have a fear of height! Wow! It makes me dizzy just viewing The London Eye.
